Black Creek Pioneer Village
1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, Toronto, ON M3J 2P3
I think it’s really nice sometimes to take a break from our busy, high-tech lives and get a feel of what life was like for Canada’s early settlers. At Black Creek Pioneer Village there’s a collection of old houses, shops, and barns, all moved to their current locations to create a village setting just like one from pioneer days. You can watch some of the craftspeople working in their shops and walk through the many houses that are open for visitors. The kids will enjoy looking at the sheep and lambs (cows, horses, and geese, too). There’s a pub restaurant located in the basement of the Half Way House Inn if you need some sustenance after all that walking, and the main building, at the entrance to the village, has washrooms and a gift shop.
