Allan Gardens Conservatory

19 Horticultural Ave, Toronto, ON M5A 2P2

I visited Allan Gardens Conservatory for the first time in late April. What a great escape from the dreary spring weather! There’s a large central conservatoy with several other greenhouses attached to it. You can wander around from one garden “room” to another with different types of plantings in each one, from tropical to desert themes. There are water features with sculptures and waterfalls. Don’t miss the turtles swimming! Check out their Flower Shows for information about their fabulous seasonal displays. There are nice washrooms (very clean on the day I visited). According to the sign on the door they’re open 7 days a week from 10 am to 5 pm. It’s a really nice place to get away from it all in the middle of the city.
