Irises and peonies galore! The Royal Botanical Gardens’ Laking Garden features lots of beautiful perennial beds on different levels, a wooded hosta walk, a display of ornamental grasses, a pretty gazebo, and, like I said, lots of fabulous irises and peonies in early summer. When we visited last summer (2013) they were in the process of redoing a large section that used to be all irises. They had the area roped off with sprinklers going and I’m looking forward to going again next year to see what they’ve planted.
