Kortright Centre for Conservation
9550 Pine Valley Dr, Woodbridge, ON L4L 1A6
When you feel an urge to get back to nature, I recommend the Kortright Centre for Conservation. It’s so good to smell the earthy smells, breathe the fresh air, climb the wooded hills or relax by one of the little streams. One trail leads to the Kortright Marsh where you can sometimes see ducks, geese, and swans. Nearby there’s a boardwalk through wetland where you might be lucky enough to spot a beaver or turtle hiding in the bullrushes, or at least a frog or two. The Centre is especially spectacular in the fall, with the forest canopy all gold, orange and red, but there’s lots to see and do all year round. Check their website for information on special events like the maple syrup festival, the kite festival and Halloween activities, and to see which facilities are open. The main building has washrooms, a cafeteria, and a charming gift shop.
